UNDERSTANDING IN TIMES OF ANGER

Image
By Ángela López One of my readers asked me what my main quality is, well, I would have to mention patience. Few things get on my nerves, as I always try to imagine how difficult life can be for many of us at certain times.  By emotionally putting myself in someone else's shoes, I am able to develop a level of understanding for the frustration, temper and even envy that others deal with. In addition, being a teacher has fueled my desire to understand the different ways of learning that others have, which also applies to the multiple interpretations that each of us give to life. By this I do not mean that I am an enlightened and perfect being; on the contrary, I strive not to taste the irrational banquet that anger, sadness and frustration prepare for me on a daily basis. Streams are beautiful as long as they are just that, harmless rivulets with pebbles and flowers around them, but when it rains incessantly on them, the flood is imminent, and with it, the charm transforms into des...

DOOR: SAY GOODBYE...

Image
"... And they lived happily forever." However, sometimes that 'forever' comes to an end in a short period of time. What to do when the person you love discovers that his/her happiness depends on leaving your side? Learning to give up is courageous, letting someone that lives in our hearts go, shows the nobility of our love. Let us remember that the unselfish love does not develop selfishness or ties, on the contrary, it is based on the mutual well-being. Accepting that that person making shine your eyes does not want to keep being part of your look anymore, is without a doubt one of the most bitter shots that you could feel. Since you have created a very strong affective bond, it is difficult to understand that life goes on despite the fact that you feel incomplete without that person. In a certain way, love him (her) was part of the habit that gave beauty to your life. Despite the pain we experience, the healthier thing for our mental and...

Door: SUCCESSFULLY HAPPY!

Image
Are you happy or successful? Or you can be both at the same time? Yiruma is one of my favorite pianists; his performances have the power of flooding my spirit with grace and beauty. What I like most of him is to see how he breaks the silence by giving life to the piano. How does he get that effect on people like me? Without a doubt, he is happy creating music. My mother has the ability to understand the complex world of her five children. In fact, she knows what the right words are and at what point they should be said to help each of them, how can she do that? Undoubtedly, she is happy to strengthen their children. Both the famous pianist and my beloved mom are happy at what they do and this leads them to obtain successful results. So then, what is success? Success is a state of mind, which is reflected by emotions such as "achievement" and "quietness." For example, when we reach something that we had set for ourselves we fee...

Door: LETTER TO YOURSELF

Image
In my countless talks with loneliness, in one occasion I asked this question: "Mirror, mirror... What is the purpose of the person which is reflected in you?" The mirror replied winking me the eye: "Check your patterns of thoughts and rules to be happy. Then, see if your habits work as a team with your values so you can develop a committed sense of belonging towards yourself and society. Finally, remember that you were created to be you... your mold is unique." Therefore, it is not healthy, trying to fit your original existence in someone else, because at the end, and after all, you are a miracle surrounded by millions of miracles. Eureka! Now I knew what the process to change my outdated belief system with an updated version was. Well, what about you? what does silence tell you? When the bustle is muted, you don't need to be saved; Instead, let it flow because it is right there in "the mental gentleness" where you overcome your fear to know ...

Door: DEPENDS ON...

All of us have, any time, wanted to have a perfect life; a life where sadness, rejection or failure was only part of a nonexistent dream... the truth is we all have internal battles in different terrains, going through tough times is what humanizes our spirit, although on many occasions these challenges can take us up to the limit; so as our life begins to turn into a dark gray color...our  focus is lost, we would simply give up. We could even reach to the point of saying to ourselves: "I can't!... what is wrong with giving up?". We compare ourselves to others and then, we imagine how our life would be if we were under other circumstances... and right there it  is where we begin to condition our lives with phrases like: "if I were", "if I had"... then... "I would be happy", "my life would be perfect."  BOOM!  ... The game of conditioned happiness just started...  Depends on  ... Is it true that happiness depends on ...? On...
